Didn't See This Coming!

Those of us old enough to remember anything about World War II are probably wondering what happened to our country. How did we go from a nation of people pulling together to defeat a common enemy, no matter what it took, to a nation with a faction seemingly hell-bent on destroying what those folks sacrificed so much to preserve?

Perhaps the word destroy is too strong for some of you! But it seems there are some whose goals are to at least diminish our way of life and especially our, yours and mine, standard of living. Much of the change being advocated, green energy, tougher environmental standards, more help for those most in need, and affordable healthcare, will have the most profound effect on the working middle class yet there doesn't seem to be many members of that same middle class out pushing these changes which we are told will make our lives better. Will your life really be better if the gas for your car hits prices rivaling those in Europe? The price of corn, thus much of our food costs, have risen substantially with the "forced and subsidized" use of ethanol in your car. How much do you think electricity will cost if all of us are "forced" to drive electric cars? How much will healthcare cost and how good will it be for you if we add 40,000,000 non-paying people to the already overburdened system?

Finally, on this very special day in our country's history, ask yourself who is it pushing for all of this change? Of course those 40 million non-payers are for it. Will someone who can afford to pay $40,000 to share a rubber chicken with a politician be effected by $10 per gallon gasoline? We know our new ruling class has exempted themselves from most of the changes in our healthcare program, but do you really think those willing to put up the kind of money it takes to keep them in office will have the same problems as you will  getting a knee or hip replacement regardless of their age?

Is the type of country you really want?
