Gun Control or Shooter Control?

Now that the Senate, controlled by Obama's own party, has rejected another effort to make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to buy a new hunting rifle. Our President will attempt to improve the existing background check by pushing states to add data on individuals deemed unstable or unbalanced by a judge. It seems 17 states do not include this information. These are people who none of us think should be able to purchase any type of firearm. Perhaps we should ask why our politicians don't make any effort to see that existing laws work and then force those who for us to enforce the law. Maybe if the existing data base had the information it was supposed to contain Jared would not have been able to buy a gun. Maybe Congresswoman Gifford would not have been shot. It seems to me it time to hold the right people accountable. It might be time to put a mirror on the office door of every elected politician on the country instead of passing "feel good" laws that don't.
